Lighting and Visual Media
The lighting & visual media technician (LVM tech) controls
the light settings for the sanctuary and platform during worship
services and other gatherings. Light settings are controlled from
the booth using a light board with programmed settings; working
with the Director of Worship & Creative Arts the LVM techs
ensure the lighting atmosphere is appropriate for each stage of the
service and are coordinated in advance.
Throughout church history visual media has been an important
component of worship and today's visual media is displayed via a
video projection system. The entire system is controlled by
EasyWorship® presentation software and displays moving and still
backgrounds for praise and worship songs, choruses and hymns,
videos, DVD playback, Biblical scripture references and live Web
and video links. All visual media schedules are assembled by a
member of the Worship & Creative Arts team before services with
slight adjustments by LVM techs occasionally necessary before
services.
Prospective Lighting/Visual Media technicians must be
"PC literate" and have some musical and/or stage & theater
experience.
